Three Killed As Tornadoes Hit US Deep South

US Storms Louisiana Mississippi

At least three people have been killed after tornadoes and severe weather ripped through southern Louisiana and Mississippi.
Static homes were destroyed and roofs ripped from buildings.
Two people were killed in Convent, in southern Louisiana, and authorities are still looking for people believed to be trapped under the debris.

Thirty people were injured, and seven of them were in critical condition.

In Mississippi, officials said one person died in a mobile home west of Purvis.
The storm even affected the National Weather Service with lightning destroying its radar in their office in Slidell, Louisiana.
Governors in both Louisiana and Mississippi have declared states of emergency.
